Lepidolite is a lilac or rose-violet colored hyllosilicat mineral of the mica group that is a secondary source of lithium-bearing minerals. It is one of the major sources of the rare alkali metals, rubidium and caesium. Lepidolite forms pseudo-hexagonal ’books’. It was discovered in the eighteenth century and was originally known as lilalite. It is also referred as the Peace Stone.
