Heat Mantle - for Laboratory Use

This heat mantle provides an efficient and safe alternative to hotplates and bunsen burners, and represents a more sophisticated approach than these to heating glassware in the laboratory.  The heat mantle features a basket that descends into the bottom of the device, holding and surrounding whatever glassware you're intending to heat.  Hotplates and burners only heat a specific point of contact on the glassware, which can generate harmful hotspots. Furthermore, since these heating devices only come in contact with part of the glassware, they will often unevenly heat the contents.  A heat mantle, on the other hand, can heat glassware evenly, since the basket holds all or most of the object in question, and the interior of the device radiates heat from all sides, passing it from the basket to the surface of the glassware.  A heat mantle is also safer than a heat bath, since it avoids immersion in liquid, which generates a liquid residue drip when the glassware is removed from the bath.
