This DIY Galileo Thermometer kit includes everything needed to build your own Galileo Thermometer, and young physicists will learn about the science behind temperature and density with a series of small experiments along the way. Students will create their own Galileo thermometer with cartesian divers of different densities to show the temperature. Each diver will be assigned a temperature range according to its density, and rise or descend according to the ambient temperature. The diver that remains suspended in the middle of the thermometer represents the approximate temperature. Building their own thermometer is undeniably fun, but we're all about education here; kids will learn about temperature, volume, and density as they build.
