Copper is itself an element, which appears in nature as a pure metal.  It was in fact the first metal to be used by humans, as early as 8,000 BCE, and was essential in ushering in the Bronze Age, when humans first created bronze by alloying it with tin, which is another metal.  It has a wide variety of practical uses, such as as a conductor of electricity and heat, and as a building material; although copper is reddish-orange, the persistent effects of time can cause it to oxidize, which produces the deep green color you see on the Statue of Liberty, which is itself made out of copper.  Copper is also essential for living beings; a healthy human should have about 0.1 grams of copper in their system.

This particular specimen of copper has been taken directly from the Earth in its natural, sculpted state.  Each piece is practically a work of art unto itself, without any human intervention.  Each piece is totally unique and utterly fascinating, and makes a great gift or stocking stuffer for the geology fan in your family.
