What is a Geode?
Geodes are formed from fluids which crystallize in cavities within a rounded rock or nodule. Geodes are found in many parts of the world. The geodes contained in this set are from Mexico; 90% of them have hollow centers lined with crystals. Break open yours and look for the hidden crystals!

How to Break Open Your Geodes
Put the geode in a cloth bag (included) or sock. Hit it firmly with a hammer (not included), aiming for the center - safety glasses (not included) and adult supervision are recommended.

Most all are hollow with quartz.A few are crystalline and I have gotten moss agate filled ones.They are a great way to get young rockhounds started on their collection.My Grandfather got me started in rock collecting many years ago.Highly recommend.

i own many geodes that are already in half polished or not, those are to show what they look like when you find them in nature, is it a fossil, an odd looking rock, a piece of petrified animal or what?
